    November 11, 2014 - HerBasketball encourages our young ladies to embrace their femininity, believe in themselves, and was developed to inspire excellence on and off the court. Of course, we advocate young ladies to maintain their femininity, but we also would like to inspire girls to be themselves and to be comfortable in the skin they're in. WNBA star, Brittney Griner, while not our typical model, she epitomizes exactly what HerBasketball motivates all girls to do; and that is to be comfortable in your own skin and to find the ‘music in you’. Brittney Griner graduated from Baylor University in 2013 and was the number 1 pick in the 2013 WNBA Draft. This WNBA champion is also an author to her memoir "In My Skin". In it she talks about the adversity she faced because of her size and athleticism, growing up. She talks about being called a man, being teased, and bullied.
